About Brett
What is your background?
My family moved to Bismarck when I was 2 and I have lived here ever since. I graduated from Century High School and then went to the University of North Dakota where I earned a B.S. in Investments. After college, I wanted to pursue a career in commercial real estate and I was fortunate to get a job as a Real Estate Appraiser. I worked for ten years as an appraiser before joining the CRA team.
What do you do to recharge your batteries outside of the office?
I enjoy spending time with family and friends, boating and golfing during the summer, hunting in the fall, and playing hockey and skiing (as much as we can) in the winter.
What’s the most important lesson you’ve learned?
I have been very lucky to have amazing role models in my personal and professional life that have taught me about hard work and that it is one of the most important factors of success. Additionally, my Dad taught me that education also plays a critical role in success. Everyone will gain experience as they work, but advancing your knowledge and expertise in areas of your chosen career is always an advantage.
